MISTI Class With Altenew "Majestic Bloom"

I love stamping with Altenew layered stamps. One of my favourites, and on my wish list for a very long time has been this beautiful "Majestic Bloom" set. I look forward to making more cards for my own personal use and ideas when I can. In the meantime these are the two cards we will be doing in our June MISTI Layered Stamping class.

MISTI & Altnew Majestic Bloom Class
WHEN: Thursday, June 14th
TIME: 6:00 - 8:30
COST: $42 + GST (includes the $28.95 stamp set)
Contact Stacey at  or  778-533-4290 to reserve your spot
Hello MISTI Layer stamping friends! I am so excited to share with you the card samples for this class! I have wanted to get this stamp set for a while, and hope that you will love it as much as I do. In this class we will once again explore stamping with colours that are not traditional, and we will also learn how to stamp on coloured card stock using a white ink before adding colours. Stamping on coloured card stock can be a lot of fun.
PLEASE BRING TO CLASS: Completed cards (or photos) from last class, MISTI or Stamping Platform, scissors, heat tool, stamp cleaner, wipes for your hands, VersaMark pad, Embossing Buddy or antistatic tool, white embossing powder, scrap paper, Platinum Liquid Pearls or Nuvo Metallic Silver Lining drops. INK PADS - Memento Colours - London Fog & Gray Flannel, Pear Tart, Rose Bud & Lilac Posies; TH Distress colours - Shabby Shutters & Crushed Olive, Weathered Wood & Hickory Smoke, Spun Sugar & Worn Lipstick; Altenew colours - Silver Stone & Industrial Diamond, Rose Bud & Razzelberry, & Bamboo & Olive. If you have other ink pads, just make you best guess with the colours you see in the photos.

This first card we will be stamping mostly in gray tones except for one of the blooms. This one can be fussy cut or die cut out and popped up to make it stand out more in colour and dimensionally, as well.

The side view shows the bloom and sentiment strip popped up.

For this pink card we will learn how to stamp onto coloured cardstock. (You can see in the photo how my antistatic powder did not work too well this time round) I love stamping colour on colour!

Closer look at the sentiment. It was double heat embossed to make the sentiment pop out just a bit more.

Now this next card is not a card that we will make in class, but one that I will show in class. It is an example of what you can do using jus the leaves in this set, and using non-traditional colours for the leaves. I was upset about finding these spurts of water on this card after taking the photos. I guess I did it when I washed my hands...

So that is it for today. Hope that I get to see you in our class. We will have fun stamping and getting our fingers all inky.

Happy stamping!

To all the Shabby Chic card lovers! We are offering a class held at the June 16th Crop! These classes will fill up quickly so be sure to reserve your spot.
We will be distressing paper as per usual, using a little ceramic stucco mixed with one of the new Nuvo Mousses, also using the mousse to colour the metal embellishments, rolling tubes and spirals, and doing some fussy cutting homework.

If you love the gorgeous paper, it is 49th & Market's "Tattered Garden" collection.

Your homework will be ready for pick up by the evening of June 7th.
Looking forward to seeing you in class!

PLEASE BRING TO CLASS: Paper trimmer, scissors, non-stick mat, pallet knife, water mister, heat tool, a floral or leafy stencil, tweezers, double sided adhesive tape, mini-glue dots, liquid glue, Glossy Accents, white 3D foam squares or tape, paper distresser, a larger dry paint brush or the Nuvo brushes & wipes. OPTIONAL - Nuvo Mousse Lilac Lavender

Let's have a closer look at the cards...

I really like how this one turned out. It is way too think to send in an envelope, so this will have to be a card that you create a special box for and give in person to the recipient. Might even be a great wedding card...

Hope that you have enjoyed these two cards, and I look forward to having our Shabby Chic classes again.

See you there, and happy creating!

May Week 4 (Week 21) Bullet Journal Set Up

Time for another week in my Bujo! Yes, the same layout, but once again a different colour. I did not have a good purple marker to coordinate better with the washi tape, but used the best match I had. I am wondering if I can do a week layout in just black? I might have to try that some time.

I love the washi tape with the days of the week written out. I have this one in fine black with boxes drawn around them with a hatched shadow, and the one I used seen last week, in gold lettering.

One thing I am learning is that I can get away with just half a page of daily journaling. There are days when I wish I had more space to write more, but I think if I left the daily journaling area blank, I could have days with 1/2 page or less, and then have room for days where I would want to write more. For me, that is hard, because I like to plan ahead with space so that I can start the next month layout as soon as I can, as I work on it a little at a time as the month goes along. I will figure it out yet.

As I mentioned that I like to work a little each day on the next month's layout, I will tell you that I am trying a new weekly spread to see how it will work for me. Just wanting to share something different with you for June so that you do not get bored.

Thank you for stopping by today. Happy creating!

Another Card Kit! - Vintage - Authentique "Homestead"

This card kit is a little more involved that the last few, and involves inking the edges of all the card pieces. It has a lovely vintage look and reminds one of the days spent with Grandma in her kitchen. I guess that is why the paper is titled "Homestead".

8 Authentique Homestead Cards
$30 + GST (+ shipping if shipped/mailed out of town)
A full set of step by step instructions will be e-mailed to you after you purchase your kit.

Contact Stacey at  or  778-533-4290 to reserve your kit.

Hope that you will order your kit from Scrapbook Essentials BC and enjoy your time creating them. These may even give you some inspiration to create your own version of these cards.

Happy creating!

May Week 3 (Week 20) Bullet Journal Spreads

I do not know about you, but for me this week has just flown by! I am sharing my new week in my Bullet Journal with you as the new week starts. You will see that the layout is the same, and I apologize if it is boring for you, but when you find a layout that really works well for you, you tend to keep using it. The only difference is that I have used different washi tape and colours.

So this is my week-at-a-glance. As you know I like to divide my daily tasks into three basic categories - work, home/personal, and church. Because of teaching craft classes, I am totally aware that there are now 32 weeks left to craft and prepare for Christmas. Many craft stores have 'Christmas in July' classes which I am beginning to look at ideas for.

To help me watch what I eat, I always log what I eat every day, along with things I am grateful for. And then there is my weekly expense log that I transfer to my monthly finance page, and that get transferred to my yearly log in my other little yearly bujo collections.

Then I have my daily journal section. I prefer using a whole page for most days, but because I am running low on pages, I have cut it down to 1/2 a page so that I can get all of may into my bujo.

I love the delicate colours of this narrow washi tape, and with it being the week of Mothers' Day, I thought it was more fitting than sticking to that bright green.

Have fun with your bullet journal set up for this week, and hope I was able to inspire you in some way.

Happy creating!

New Class For June! - Authentique "Meadow" and a Card You Did Not Get to See Before

Remember the posts of my Honeymoon Bay Retreat? Some were of cards made from Authentique "Meadow". Well it turns out that I was requested to teach a class to create some of theses cards that I posted.

Set of 5 Cards with Sabrina
WHEN: Wednesday, June 20th
TIME: 6:30 - 8:30
COST: $32 + GST
Contact Stacey at  or  778-533-4290 to reserve your spot
I don't know about you, but when I was a child I loved the stories and movies about Heidi and her friend Peter with the sheep, goats and their adventures. The paper we are using for this card class subtly hints to those stories.
We hare going to have a lot of fun getting our fingers all dirty as we ink the paper edges for these 5 cards. These will be a delight for young and old to receive. All the die cut letters will be cut for you before class, and there will be just a tiny bit of fussy cutting for homework which should be available to you at the very latest a week before class; maybe sooner. You will be notified when it is ready for you to pick up.
If you are interested in the alphabet die set, it is Altenew's "Bold Alphabet" which can be ordered through Stacey. They have both upper case and lower case sets.

PLEASE BRING TO CLASS: paper trimmer, scissors, Tim Holtz Distress Gathered Twigs ink pad & blending tool, double sided adhesive tape, foam squares and foam tape, non-stick teflon craft mat, and anything else that you think you might use like wipes for your mat and fingers.

I know I just posted these cards, but for those taking the class, I thought I would post them together with the class announcement so that they are together and you do not have to hop over to the previous post. Plus, there is an additional card that you have not seen yet! It is the card that I did not get a chance to take a photo of before giving it to Stacey as a TY for organizing a fantastic retreat for us all! Since she asked that I include it in the class, I was able to borrow it to take photos, and share it with you.

This is the card.

And these are the other cards chosen for the class.

So that is it for another June class. Hope to see you there, and have some more fun with you,

Happy creating!
